The Australian Non-Toxic Awards have completed for 2020. They celebrate exceptional products that work in perfect harmony with our bodies, our environment and our society. The Awards are now in their second successful year and recognise products that are safe, ethical, sustainable and socially responsible. This year over 350 finalists were selected across 75 categories followed by an extended period of hands-on reviewing by a panel of more than 40 experts. The categories were diverse and included Beauty, Body, Baby & Kids, Fashion, Fitness, Food & Drink, Home and Zero Waste.
About the Awards
Emily Fletcher who is the Founder of the Awards and Head of Research & Education is determined to make the Awards transparent, authentic, unbiased and scientifically factual. Her aim is to help people choose healthy products that align with their values. “We are so proud to be creating such a valuable resource and very excited for the change it can affect in the future.” By supporting the businesses truly prioritising not only their customers’ health but their local and global communities as well our earth, we are sending a powerful message that cannot be ignored,” says Emily.
The Awards, which are 100% independent and unaffiliated with any brands, corporations or media organisations, are free of sponsorship and advertising, ensuring a fair and transparent judging process. Finalists were reviewed by a panel of experts made up of industry professionals, eco leaders, writers, editors and influencers.
Being part of the Expert Panel
I was thrilled to be part of the expert panel for the second year. The 2020 Expert Panel had a wide range of members includes Sarah Berry of the Sydney Morning Herald, environmental activist Laura Wells, author Lindsay Miles, influencer and author Sjana Earp, beauty editor Sigourney Cantelo, ethical fashion blogger Brittney Dreghorn (of Britt’s List), eco teacher Laura Trotta and many more.
As part of the review process we were privileged to try all of the products in our review categories and learn more about their social responsibility and manufacturing processes.
